"At a certain part in your life, probably when too much of it has gone by, you will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are. Especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals. And you will say to yourself: but I am this person. And in that statement, that correction, there will be a kind of love."

Girls On Film

Here is a clip of my 2-year-old niece, whom I like to call "Savvy", singing some song she made up while insulting the dog and attempting to take her pants off. Talent runs in the family.

Looking for a sweet and funny book that your toddler will love? My toddler class (and my 2 youngest nieces) love Knuffle Bunny! Oh heck...and I love him, too!

I'll be reading this book aloud tonight in my Children's Literature class at Mercer. I better go practice my voices.

Life In One Day...(or one post)

I started this blog a year ago to help me cope with the loss of my dear friend Tiffany. For whatever reason, I only wrote here twice...once a couple of days after she died...and once the day of her funeral.

What a crazy year it was. Full of highs and lows. And lemme tell ya....the lows were VERY low. All in all, I consider 2007 to be the worst year of my life. That being said, I had many good times last year and that is what I am going to focus on. That is one of the reasons I renamed my blog after the Beatles song. I feel like I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The other reason being that we (my brother Jason, sil Robin, nieces, parents and myself) are in the beginning stages of "the big move" to the Sunshine state....sometime in the next 2 years. I have wanted to live in Florida since I was 12-years-old and even though I love Georgia, we all feel that the time is right.

I was able to go to the Magic Kingdom with "the rents" and my 11-year old niece Ashton in April. It was her first time. We also did some shopping and a lot of walking around Downtown Disney and Celebration, Florida. We all had a blast...

Her words to me as we left the park that night were "dreams really do come true!" A perfect end to a magical day!

A couple of months later, I graduated from college with my associates in early childhood education. Even though it was only a 2 year college, I was the first in my family to graduate. Knowing that I still had another 2 years of school ahead of me I didn't think it was such a big deal, but my whole family came to celebrate. I was most happy to see the Beddingfields (Tiffany's family)...

The next month, in July, the Beddingfields and I packed our bags and headed for the Great Smokey Mountains and Pigeon Forge! We spent a couple of days in Dollywood and went on a picturesque drive around Cade's Cove and so much more. I love Tennessee.

We stayed in a cabin called Jane's Woods and we absolutely loved every second of it. In fact, we loved it so much we went back in August to celebrate Tori's 24th birthday!

We got a good laugh out of the bird who mocked Tori's laugh outside the Christmas Shop in Pigeon Forge...

I was also able to go back to Florida in July with my mother so that we could visit with her sister and brother-in-law in Malabar. In less than 2 months I had vacationed in Tennessee twice and Florida once. A nice way to spend summer vacation after such a difficult beginning of the year.

The holidays were hard, but it is always nice to be surrounded by loved ones....

I registered back at Griffin last fall in the Computer Programming degree because I was afraid that Mercer University would be just too much money for me. However, after driving all the way out to the college on my first day of class, I walked into the building, right past my classroom and back out the door. Something in me just knew it wasn't right. So I decided to suck it up and apply at Mercer. I will be knee high in student loans for the next few years but I know it will be totally worth it. I started Mercer earlier this month....so far, so good.

So those were some of the better moments in 2007. Those are the moments I think about when times are tough. And those moments are worth fighting for.

Hopefully, this year I will be better about updating my blog!
